Why do I only provide customized treatment? My customized treatment method based on the patient's conditions, and it can be a combination of acupuncture, acupressure and manual therapy. Cupping and Gua Sha would be done when necessary. Each combination contains two to three different treatment methods, which is much more effective than a single treatment method. It can also solve more complicated and long-term physical problems. It is recommended to undergo treatment one to three times per week.

How do I make an appointment? You can either make an appointment online: www.daviddiacupuncture.com/book-appointment or call us at (213)-749-1909.
-
Should I do anything to prepare for my treatment? We always recommend being hydrated and eating something light prior to your arrival for all of our in-person services. We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy adjustment for accessing the necessary parts of your body during the treatment.

Does acupuncture hurt? Some patients worry about the pain of acupuncture, but during most treatments, patients rarely feel any pain. They can even relax and take a nap. Sometimes, they could feel the conduction of the acupuncture area and the meridians, which is actually an effect of pain relief. Due to the complexity of certain diseases, doctors might also select specific acupuncture points and areas for treatment to achieve higher efficiency of pain relief. However, the doctor might make adjustments according to the extent of acceptance of the patient, so as to achieve good results and relief of symptoms after the treatment.
-
How would I feel after the treatment? After treatment, most patients feel relaxed physically and mentally, and many have reported that their sleeping quality has improved. For some complicated and long-term illnesses, patients might experience some symptoms the next day, which is perfectly normal. In Chinese natural therapy, this is a manifestation of the meridians beginning to take effect after treatment, just like cars starting to move smoothly after a traffic jam.

Do you accept insurance? We gladly check your insurance coverage for acupuncture care. If you have coverage, we will bill your insurance for you. Please bring your insurance card and photo ID to your first appointment so that we can determine your benefits. Our services will be subject to full payment upfront. Once we have determined your coverage, we will reimburse you if your sessions are covered full or part. David Di LAc is a fee-for-service office, meaning all of our patients pay with cash or with credit card at the time of service. We also accept Health Saving Accounts (HSAs) which, in many cases, can be used for covering the cost of acupuncture treatments. We can supply you with a “superbill”, which is an itemized receipt with all necessary insurance coding for you to submit a claim to your insurance company yourself for direct reimbursement or have your visits applied towards your deductible. If you’d like a superbill, please request after your visit.
